Four friends from Queens, NY, joined forces for one purpose…
to proudly present and represent NYC rock and roll.

Eduardo Alarcon

Rhythm Guitars and Vocals

From College Point, NY, Eduardo developed a love for music at a very young age. When he was 3, Eduardo would sit in his parent's living room for hours listening to classical music. He even requested that his father make him a mix tape of classical standards.

It wasn't until 11 that Eduardo found a way to transition his love of listening to music to a new love of playing music...all thanks to a friend who happened to be playing some Nirvana tunes on a guitar. "I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The way the guitar sounded...At that moment, I knew I wanted to play guitar forever!"

Shortly after, Eduardo would eventually learn to play guitar, experimenting with grunge rock, heavy metal, classic rock, and ultimately progressive rock. "I always loved rock music, but it was progressive rock, specifically the band Dream Theater, where my eyes and ears opened to the idea of music being an open piece of canvas. I learned that nothing was off limits."

Donny Joseph

Bass Guitar

From Howard Beach, NY, Donny’s eclectic and diverse musical roots from an early age allowed him to appreciate and understand the necessity of any song needing a solid foundation. Donny states, “whether it’s nodding your head, moving your hips, or dancing in any form, our bodies respond to music because of a solid bass performance.” Through this awareness, Donny picked up the bass guitar at 13 and has been a driving force in the NYC music scene for the past two decades.

As the latest member of The Poynt, Donny's dynamic stage presence and powerhouse bass playing are welcoming elements that have elevated the band to new heights. Also, his love of gear and video games has left the rest of the band forever in debt to Guitar Center and Gamestop.

Adhnan Sulaiman

Lead Guitars

From Astoria, NY, Adhnan's experiences living in both the Eastern and Western Hemispheres are only a part of his fantastic journey.

At age 10, Adhnan and his family left New York to live in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Living in Dhaka, Adhnan had access to a culture drawn to and appreciative of rock music. "The people of Bangladesh love music so much. I was lucky to be surrounded by people who were just natural composers." Adhnan was drawn to the guitar after he saw a friend playing an original piece. "There was something about the way that my friend played the guitar. In retrospect, the piece wasn't complicated, but there was a purity to it, and at that moment, I knew that I wanted to play guitar." Adhnan learned to play guitar by listening to the masters, citing that his "teachers" were Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, and John Petrucci (to name a few). He would go on to play in numerous local bands and continue to refine his skills.

After a decade in Bangladesh, Adhnan returned to New York to attend college. During a random Guitar Center trip, Adhnan met Eduardo in the acoustic guitar room. "I remember hearing this guy playing the hell out of this, Taylor. It was loud and a little annoying because I was trying to test a guitar, but then he overheard me playing some Dream Theater and Final Fantasy music...that's when he stopped playing." It was at that moment that Eduardo and Adhnan formed a musical connection. Shortly after, Adhnan was invited to a practice session and has been an integral member of The Poynt.

Dom Turo

Percussion & Drums

Dom Turo, a New York City native, has played drums since he was 16 years old and professionally for the last 15 years.

Since his youth, Dom has been a drummer in the making. From banging on pots and pans to The Monkees to rattling in the basement and practicing his favorite metal and punk bands like Nirvana, Metallica, Blink 182, NOFX, and Lagwagon. His parents may not have had many quiet days, but they knew they had a drummer on their hands.

Always wanting to play harder and faster, his influences took to the likes of Dave Grohl, Travis Barker, Dave Raun, and Lars Ulrich. Dom knew he had no choice but to make drums his life.
